ALMA DE LUX – SPIRITS FOR SOUL

Artisanal liqueurs made entirely by hand, from the selection of raw ingredients to bottling. Alma De Lux was born from the passion of Luisa Matarese, who transforms carefully selected ingredients into distinctive recipes in her workshop in San Giorgio a Cremano, just outside Naples. Flavours rooted in Neapolitan tradition and unexpected combinations express her personal interpretation of the art of liqueur making.

THE STORY

Luisa’s journey begins in the family kitchen, among shared recipes and knowledge passed down through generations. Her encounter with the world of infusions turns that passion into a pursuit: studying ingredients, discovering their possibilities and finding new balances through patient experimentation and preparation.

Her first creation is a Calabrian Liquorice liqueur, which marks the beginning of Alma De Lux. It is followed by recipes that reflect her curiosity and connection to her region, such as the Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio PDO tomato liqueur, with Basil and Chilli Pepper. Experimentation continues through to Sunset, which combines tree-ripened Sicilian Mango, Passion Fruit and Lime.

This work has earned numerous WineHunter Awards, including Platinum for Cigarro in 2021 and for Pomodorino del Piennolo in 2022, alongside Gold awards for several liqueurs in the collection.

THE PHILOSOPHY

Every recipe starts with its ingredients. Luisa seeks out quality, studies each ingredient’s aromatic profile and explores combinations to give every liqueur a distinct identity. Production takes place in small batches, without preservatives or additives, with Luisa personally overseeing every stage through to bottling and labelling.

The same attention extends to the choice of bottles and packaging details, as part of an artisanal project considered as a whole.

Created to be savoured and to offer new possibilities for cooking and mixology, Alma De Lux liqueurs can be enjoyed after a meal, paired with sweet and savoury dishes, or used to create cocktails, Spritzes and Punches. A collection to explore through ingredients, aromas and textures, guided by the curiosity that continues to shape Luisa’s work.
