Company Profile
The Testa family has been living and fishing since 1800 in Ognina, the ancient port of Ulysses a few kilometers from Catania, "cultivating" the sea.
After opening the Portopalo di Capo Passero plant, he began collaborating with Ciccio Sultano, a two-star Michelin chef from Ragusa Ibla, to create a line of high-end products.
From red tuna fillets to ventresca, from buzzonaglia to horse mackerel, mackerel, anchovies and bottarga without forgetting the two pasta kits: Taratatà and Buzzonaglia. Products preserved exclusively in Sicilian PGI extra virgin olive oil or in salt.
It should be emphasized that the capture of bluefin tuna through seine nets is subject to the strictest scrutiny of the ICAAT and MiPAAF. The control over the number of tuna caught has averted the danger of extinction of the species and allowed a conspicuous repopulation in recent years.
Due to its great quality, canned oil is not thrown away but can be used for seasoning and for making sauces.
Our preserves show how it is possible to combine an ancient craft with respect for the rules, a modern market and thinking about the future.
Our reason for living is the blue fish and the bluefin tuna that we fish and catch with two motor ships, the Atlas and the Futura prima.
