Company Profile
First and foremost, we grow organic pomegranates – probably the finest you’ll ever have the pleasure of tasting in your lifetime. Red, juicy and completely natural. We follow and respect Mother Nature’s rhythm; it is she who decides and determines our harvest. Our task, at dawn and dusk, is to water the plants, watch them grow luxuriantly, admire their marvellous flowers, and wait patiently for them to bear fruit.
We grow two varieties of pomegranate on our farm: the Ako and the Wonderful. In mid-September, as summer draws to a gentle close, the Ako appears – an intimate fruit that fits in the palm of your hand, a promise of pure sweetness with almost no hint of tartness. Then, in early October, it is the turn of the ‘Wonderful’, the queen of pomegranates, clad in a deep, intense red, which embodies a perfect balance between sweet and tart.
We grow organic pomegranates on various plots of land, spread across the municipalities of Laviano, Sicignano degli Alburni and Palomonte, covering a total of around fifteen hectares. The fields are not concentrated in a single location, nor do we grow just one variety. This is a deliberate choice. Diversifying our growing areas and cultivars allows us to respect nature’s timing and harvest the fruit at different times, without rushing the process. We mainly grow the ‘Ako’ variety, which is sweeter and available from September, and the ‘Wonderful’ variety, harvested from mid-October to the end of November. Harvesting is done by hand. Processing takes place within a few hours, directly in our workshop. We produce juices, jams, liqueurs and other products in-house, following a closed supply chain. From the field to the workshop, with no intermediate stages. We use machinery that helps us preserve the flavour and natural qualities of the pomegranate, but the work remains largely artisanal. Because, for us, technology only makes sense if it does not take precedence over the raw material.
