A FAMILY STORY
In the early 1970s, a Latin professor retired and opened a small bookstore in Marina di Ravenna. It was here, hidden away in an old Jewish cookbook, that he discovered a recipe from which the magic of these cookies was born. Since that moment 50 years ago, his wife Franca has delighted her children, grandchildren, and friends with the delicate fragrance of these freshly baked sweet tesserae. Simple but special, the Biscotti Bizantini embody the discovery of a professor, the devotion of a grandmother, the link with the local area and its products. Fragile but determined these tesserae are baked in the oven and they contain no animal fats. Let yourself be carried away by their simplicity and you will find it hard to resist.
The recipe and the affection of a grandmother are now being passed on in two new tasty and delicate variants with the same iconic shape and unmistakable fragrance: the salted pumpkin seed tesserae and the sweet candied orange tesserae.
