Luigi Guffanti selects and refines the best traditional Italian and European cheeses from its foundation in 1876. The great attention in the research and selection of dairy product of quality craftsmanship and the passion for accurate aging, are the basic rules that the Guffanti Fiori family handed, down for five generations.
More than two hundred varieties of Italian cheeses, several tens of cheeses from other countries selected and refined in their own special ripening caves carved into the ground.
Fresh cheeses are selected through the same philosophy. The producers are periodically controlled by on site audit procedures, and the cheeses are kept into cellars (2° C to 6° C), to maintain and grant the correct shelf life.
Luigi Guffanti has a strong presence on the Italian market and abroad (65% of the 2014 turnover has been made in foreign countries) as a provider of catering and high-level food service.
The company has the CE ID Number (IT 01 351 CE), issued by the Italian Health Authorities and periodically checked, and it is FSSC 22000 certified.
Cheeses are delivered refrigerated at a temperature determined at the source, ensuring its preservation and durability.
Regular deliveries are made by air and by sea, all over the world.
All Guffanti’s suppliers (producers) are selected with in site visit and blind test of products. The production is tested by Guffanti’s team and regularly verified, either in Guffanti caves or at producers’ facilities. All facts are reported in the Guffanti’s Good Procedures Handbook.
