Melotti Farm is a family-run company which has been specializing in cultivating Vialone Nano Rice and Carnaroli Rice. They are some of the very fine italian rice varieties that the Family has been growing on its own fields in Isola della Scala, Verona ( nothern Italy) following every production steps up to its direct sale, a very unique Italian example of short food chain.
Over the last years, the Family has been proposing, in addition to more than 80 Rice-based Specialties, different special types of rice unknown up to now: Nero Beppino Rice, Rosso Rosetta Rice, Lillà Rice, Mandello Rice and “Essicato al sole” (Desiccated under the sun) Rice. The “Essiccato al Sole” Vialone Nano Rice is our niche product, in fact its grains are sun-dried naturally, just like our grandparents used to do in their rural courtyard.
Our Rice, thanks to its high-quality and its traditional production, is chosen and used by the best Italian chefs and not just and sold in the most prestigious stores, excluding the large-scale retail trade.
