Company Profile
In Casentino, a Tuscan valley nestled in the heart of the Casentino Forests and traversed by the fresh waters of the Arno River, our young company, Terra di Mezzo Agricultural Farm, takes root. The Tuscan Apennines, which mark the boundaries of our territory, protect us with their peaks, moderating summer temperatures and ensuring a quality production.
Our plants are nourished by pure waters flowing from the source of the Arno, a source of Dantean memory that finds its cradle in our valley.
The hazelnut, present in this corner of Tuscany since antiquity and documented in the herbarium of the Casentino Forests Park in its wild state at the end of the 19th century, typically occupies the edges of the woods and forests that populate our valley.
Indeed, it is common to come across wild hazelnuts while strolling along the paths leading to the Sanctuary of La Verna or the Hermitage of Camaldoli.
In 2015, we decided to invest in this noble essence, valued for its fruits and admired for its vegetation. We transplanted over 35,000 plants, nurtured and cultivated with passion and dedication until today, enhancing the territory and its produce. In doing so, we rediscover an ancient cultivation.
