Company Profile
The history of Latteria di Aviano and Del Ben Formaggi began in 1988 when Gioacchino, a cheesemaker since the age of 16, decided together with his brother Luciano to open a cheese maturing warehouse. The "start-up" consisted of a few dozen wheels kept in the attic of the family farmhouse, up to today where there are 40,000 wheels being aged. In 2012, Del Ben, led by the cheesemaker Gioacchino, took over the Aviano dairy, making it one of the most important local companies in its sector today, as it was then. Since 2021 the Del Ben family has also managed another small local dairy: the Bannia dairy
Also in 2012, the four children Linda, Veronica, Luca and Alessio, all under 30, joined the company. Our strength is the family. The ambitious project is to combine tradition and innovation. In fact, our dream is to create products in step with the times, satisfying the new needs of consumers while continuing to maintain an artisanal mold. We still work with copper boilers and classic canvases.
Every year we create a new product, the result of a careful balance between the link with the territory, tradition and innovation.
Our strong points are: Costa, a fresh raw milk cheese with a lightly spongy crust, Gran Modesto in straw, dedicated to our grandfather, progenitor of the large family, aged for one year in a cellar with tuff walls, on straw , the drunk Schioppettino from the Friulian company 'Moschioni', the Italiko aged in tobacco leaves, then the fresh ones such as stracchino, cow and buffalo mozzarella, burrata, ricotta, goat products, and of tradition such as Frico and Frant.
