Located in the Parco Oglio Nord, near Cremona, the Bettella farm, which boasts over a hundred years of history, since 2010 has been dedicated exclusively to the breeding of the Maiale Tranquillo® (Quiet Pig).
The weight of these extra-heavy pigs is of 330 – 350 kg and are two years old. Unlike intensive farms, these pigs live in much larger spaces and feed only with cereals grown in the 150 hectares owned by the Bettella company. The company takes care of these animals, guaranteeing them maximum well-being. The MaialeTranquillo® meats, characterized by an exceptional softness and an extraordinary ability to withstand very long maturations, have entrusted to the skilled hands of Italian craftsmen located in the typical production areas, so that each product is prepared and seasoned perfectly done. Once the ideal age of maturation has been reached, the cured meats "return home" and continue their refinement in our cellar, until they reach the maximum expression of flavors and textures.
