INAUDI – The History since 1929
Nowadays reference point in Italy and in several countries in the world in the field of Mushrooms, Truffles and typical Piedmontese products, the Inaudi company, as is so often the case for the best examples of successful entrepreneurs, is proud of its story based on ancient roots, courage, inspirations, resilience and love for quality.
The history begins in 1929 when on March 23rd Inaudi Michele, Clemente's father, got the license to open a small grocery store in Busca, in the province of Cuneo.
The family used to sell groceries and, during picking seasons, the business was focused on purchasing and selling fresh mushrooms within local areas. In the 50’s and 60’s the shop became the reference point for the finest product of the wood… the Porcino Mushroom. Mushrooms were sold during weekly markets in the province of Cuneo, and when seasons were particularly lucky, it was possible to reach food wholesalers in Turin and Milan areas.
Clemente Inaudi and his wife Irma, at the end of 60’s, decided to expand their business, starting to process raw products following traditional Piedmontese recipes. The company, officially established in 1971 in Borgo San Dalmazzo, became quickly the quality brand for Fresh Mushrooms, Dried Mushrooms and Mushrooms in olive oil. Day by day, the selection expanded with Fresh Truffles and Truffles in jars and several other typical products such as Creams, Sauces, Starters, Pasta, etc…
Reference product: “LA TARTUFATA” (concentrated cream with White Truffle), of which the company was the first to register the trademark in Italy.
At the beginning of the 80’s the first shop in Borgo San Dalmazzo was opened which was followed by the shop in Alba, inaugurated in 1996. The shop, called “I Piaceri del Gusto”, in the Langhe Capital, was the first “wine bookshop” of the area, anticipating the mix food, territory and culture, still strong point of interest nowadays. In 1998 the third shop was opened in Cuneo, in the very city center.
Today the sons Emiliano and Davide run the family company, keeping up the business with the same principles and the same policy, oriented to the top quality of products and satisfaction of the customer.
