Company Profile
The DOC area of Castel del Monte is part of the characteristic landscape of the “Murgia” and in particular the hilly area of our Andria countryside, well exposed to the sun and close to the sea, perfect for vines due to the consistently mild temperatures, optimal temperature variations, and a dry and low-rainfall climate. We believe in the synergy between man-land-vine, an indispensable value to enhance the distinctive characteristics of our territory and therefore our wines. The attention to nature and healthy products has led our farm and winery to share the values of organic agriculture. “Vignuolo,” a poetic license of Pascoli, indicated the tendril, the grip that the vine, climbing, develops to better support the weight of the ripe bunch of grapes. A sweet sound that dissimulates tenacity and strength. The representation of the countryside and the sweetness of memories fused into a single word. Resumed and adopted, this concept is part of the philosophy of the Spagnoletti Zeuli Family, which aims to create round and balanced wines, of high quality, attentive to health and the environment, and with extensive use of native grape varieties. The unique organoleptic qualities of this area have allowed Vignuolo to achieve important results with its wines, all with designation of origin: I.G.P. “Puglia” and D.O.C. or D.O.C.G. “Castel del Monte.” DOP and IGP products are identified by the peculiar characteristics linked to the precise application of a production specification, of which the historical origin in the territory declared in the denomination is proven. The great attention to the protection of the environment in which the grapes are produced has led to the adoption of cultivation techniques with low environmental impact. Most of the fine grapes are produced with the techniques provided for organic agriculture and Vignuolo has been certified organic by ICEA. We are also certified by CSQA for the certification schemes related to product traceability ISO 9001 and 22000.
