Company Profile
Tenuta Il Radichino’s products are born from a constant balance between Humanity and Nature. Cheeses and artisanal cured meats reflect a deep respect for animals and a dedication to work passed down by their father. The organic farm was founded in the countryside of Ischia di Castro by Carmelo Pira, who arrived from Sardinia in the 1960s with his flock of sheep. Through years of hard work, the farm grew and is now run by his four children: Tonino, Giovanni, Francesca and Piera.
The Pira family raises sheep, goats and red cows in the wild, feeding them pasture grass and fodder grown directly on the farm. In the on-site dairy, production focuses mainly on raw-milk cheeses, combining rural traditions such as pecorino and ricotta with more contemporary creative expressions. These include sheep’s and goat’s blue cheeses and cheeses aged in marc, candied fruit and dried fruit. Alongside dairy production, the farm also produces sausages made from free-range Cinta Senese pork, beef and mutton.
Tenuta Il Radichino is a family business committed to developing its full potential while continuously evolving. The company constantly seeks to improve its products and services to offer an authentic tasting experience and full immersion in its world. Farmers, shepherds, cheesemakers and cheese mongers, the family expresses a high sensory profile through a closed-cycle organic farm that places animal welfare at its core.
