Welcome to the world of fresh and cured Mangalica meats, a prized pig breed native to the Danube region, which is carefully and passionately raised in Italy by Solobrado, resulting in products with a unique and authentic flavor.
Thanks to the dedication of the Metzeler family, in 2006 the largest Mangalica farm in Italy was established in Villa Caviciana. Solobrado, with artisanal care, passion, and meticulous attention, continues the Metzeler family’s project, protecting and safeguarding the well-being of this ancient breed, for its history, its zootechnical value, and its beauty.
Mangalica pigs are raised in a semi-wild state across more than 86 hectares of woods and pastures – the only farm of its kind in Italy – encouraging the slow and natural growth of the animals, allowing them to develop their characteristic layer of fat that makes their meat so flavorful.
Once the pigs reach the appropriate age, they are selected and processed using traditional techniques, with particular attention to the curing process, which takes place in controlled environments with ideal temperatures and humidity to enhance the unique characteristics of this pig breed."
