Company Profile
Excellence is not an act but a habit.
Ranieri family is historically linked to agricultural traditions of the Alta Tuscia Viterbese nestled between Bolsena Lake and Umbria. Since 1948 they cultivate the dark volcanic soil and each new harvest preserves biodiversity of ancient legumes, cereals and potatoes, which has been handed down by the centuries-old work of local farmers.
Roberta and Giuseppe, together with their son Davide, carry on a business reality that guarantees quality and sustainability at every stage of the production chain. In addition to cultivations carried out on the owned farm, Ranieri Family has established solid and lasting ties with local farmers, considered essential collaborators, with whom they share a cultivation protocol focused on the quality and sustainability of the product and to whom they recognize fair prices and adequate to support the local economy.
The company has specialized in the production, selection and marketing of ancient varieties of legumes, cereals and tubers, which find an ideal habitat in the Alta Tuscia Viterbo thanks to the presence of fertile volcanic soil, rich in minerals.
The ancient varieties represent a choice of sustainability, as they require less use of water and preserve the natural fertility of the soil, but are often reluctant to highly mechanized work in the field. To preserve the authentic flavors of traditional crops, Ranieri family follows ancient methods for some processes: even today, the selection of legumes is done by hand, as is the harvesting of potatoes. This extreme respect for agricultural knowledge is intertwined with the innovation of the modern storage and packaging line, thanks to which the company is able to guarantee, on the one hand, the correct conservation of its products without the use of chemicals, on the other than to realize the diversified requests of its customers with dynamism and flexibility.
