Colonnata is an ancient Roman village located in the heart of the Apuan Alps , which, thanks to its position and the mountain air, gives the lard, together with the mixture of spices and salt, a delicate and unmistakable taste . This sausage was the food of the quarrymen who worked in the marble quarries , also known by Michelangelo who went there to choose the blocks for his works.
