Company Profile
La Campagnola Bakery is a small, family-run business producing Traditional Toasted Bread, a hallmark of Campania's culinary heritage.
"As good as bread, since 1960."
These words represent not only our history but also our commitment to quality and authenticity, spanning three generations.
We are located in Campagna, an ancient town in the province of Salerno, nestled between the Cilento National Park and the Picentini Mountains Park.
The history of our product, Toasted Bread, or "Viscuòtto" in the local dialect, is deeply rooted in ancient peasant culture, where bread was considered a precious commodity and could not be wasted.
In those days, bread was not made every day, and when it was prepared, only a rationed portion was intended for daily consumption, while the rest was returned to the oven and dried.
This ancient process allowed bread to be preserved for a long time, so that it could be consumed later. From this ancient tradition, "hard bread" or "toasted bread" was born.
Our Toasted Bread is still produced today according to the ancient local recipe, using traditional craftsmanship.
We still carry out many of the most important steps by hand, combining traditional preparation methods with modern technologies to achieve high quality standards.
With careful control and monitoring of every production phase and the careful selection of raw materials, we are able to continue bringing to our customers' tables a toasted bread that preserves all the characteristics of the local tradition.
