Morettino is an authentic love story for coffee that began in 1920 in Palermo, at the center of the Mediterranean. For the past four generations it has created an artisanal coffee of excellence and it has been promoting its culture and traditions, constantly pursuing their natural predisposition for quality.
The Morettino selections are created through a careful attention to detail and a direct selection of the most refined raw materials in the world, a slow and eco-friendly roasting with clean warm air and a knowledgeable ageing process, all to enhance the natural organoleptic properties of the coffee and to provide an authentic tasting experience with selections created for any time of the day.
The respect for nature guides us during every moment of coffee production, from the plantation to the cup. We carefully select the best harvests directly from the warm countries of origin, through the collaboration with the small producers. Our production is ethical and respectful, according to slow and sustainable processes, which guarantee the wholesomeness of our selections.
Morettino family for about 30 years has carried out an experimental project that has seen coffee plants sprout and grow even on the island, also thanks to a significant climate change that we are witnessing. A strong signal received from nature that gave life to a native Sicilian coffee through a manual harvest of the drupes and a natural production process. Based on the geography of the origins of coffee, the Morettino plantation is located more north than the typical tropical lands. Nature has given an incredible harvest and a surprising result in a cup last year: a very high quality native Sicilian coffee, with special and unique fragrances, typical of the Sicilian land, notes of zibibbo grapes and carob and sweet smells of white plumeria flowers and panela sugar.
