Company Profile
In the heart of Basilicata, where olive groves embellish the hills nestled between the Lucanian Dolomites, our story begins. It was 1968, the year grandfather Battista founded the Antico Frantoio Di Perna in Campomaggiore. Since then we repeat the ancient rite every year.
Our 100% Italian organic extra virgin olive oil is cold pressed from only two Lucanian olive varieties (Justa and Majatica). The pressing takes place in Campomaggiore, in our oil mill, a state-of-the-art facility that uses oxygen-free processing and allows temperatures to be monitored throughout the production cycle.
Our olive trees grow in a special mountain microclimate and give us a high altitude extra virgin olive oil that, thanks to its balance, harmony and health-giving properties, is sold in pharmacies and selected every year by the Slow Food, Gambero Rosso and Flos Olei guides and recently recognised as the best oil in Basilicata produced in the mountains.
The quality of our extra virgin oil from the mountains requires the beauty of its dress. So we decided to give the oil a new look: designer ceramic bottles made and hand-painted by artisans from Basilicata.
