The name “La Musa Nera” comes from Sicily’s history and culture, where the micro roastery comes from. Among the ancient myths we can find stories about muses, who were divine figures that represented all of the arts. With the opening of the first literary cafés in Palermo, the black beverage became an inspirational muse for numerous artists, giving it its name: “la musa nera” (black muse). The logo of the micro roastery La Musa Nera is in fact a stylized image of the muse, depicted as a woman’s face with her hair recalling a coffee bean. The Musa Nera coffees are Specialty Coffees of pure mountain Arabicas, offered as single origins and as blends of multiple origins. La Musa Nera is the micro roastery project that goes beyond the concept of organic. In fact, La Musa Nera coffees are natural and carefully selected directly from the countries of origin with the collaboration of the small producers, while respecting those working in the plantations and of the local communities.
